Jerry Searfoss
Jerry Searfoss has served on the Green Brook Township Committee for over 18 years. He is currently the longest serving member on the Committee. As part of that service, Jerry has served three terms as Green Brook’s Mayor.
Jerry’s proven leadership was instrumental in helping Green Brook through many trying times such as Super Storm Sandy and Hurricane Irene. Additionally, Jerry worked with former Police Chief Kurz to seamlessly transition police dispatch operations to Somerset County. This service is provided at no additional cost to the town, saving nearly $200,000 per year and improving officer and community safety. Jerry worked with North Plainfield and Watchung, to establish a shared court personnel agreement that saves additional money. He also worked closely with Somerset County to get Green Brook Township on the County Recycling program. Initially as part of a pilot program and currently a full participant. Keeping the “green” in Green Brook!
Jerry was instrumental in the development of the "Central Bark" dog park, which is one of the most utilized parks in town and continues to provide enjoyment for our residents.
Jerry is extremely proud that the Green Brook Municipal Budget has been flat or decreasing over many years, and has had the lowest increase in Somerset County over the last 10 years!
Jerry has served on various Green Brook Committees, including the Municipal Drug Alliance, Elders’ Affairs, Board of Health, Open Space and Recreation. He has also served as liaison to the Police/Fire/EMS, Board of Education and the Business Community.
Prior to service on the Township Committee, Jerry served the Green Brook Board of Education for 5 years, including 2 years as Vice President. He was instrumental in the expansions of our Elementary and Middle Schools as well as maintaining our “Blue Ribbon” status.
Jerry volunteered 12 years with the Green Brook Little League and 4 years with Washington Rock Pop Warner Football. He has been a member of the Green Brook Lions Club for 19 years, having also served as Club Secretary.
Jerry is a lifelong New Jersey resident and has lived in Green Brook for over 31 years with his wife Kate and their three sons, ages 24, 21, and 19. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Kings College. Jerry has worked for 31 years in the financial services field and is currently employed as a Director of Sales for Ferrari Financial Services in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

Our vision for Green Brook is to strive for stable taxes and renewed focus on economic development. Green Brook is a great place to live, work and play. We pledge to continue doing the things that made it that way!
